The North Face – where it all began
The North Face established in 1966, in San Francisco, USA, and was co-founded by two mountain lovers who decided to set up a store specialized in high-end mountaineering and hiking equipment. Since then, it has grown into an all-round known sportswear provider. The brand has a wide range of products that vary from gloves, jackets, and winter coats to bags, bodywarmers, and hoodies. The North Face is a reference brand in high performance equipment, made for outdoor sports today, and sponsors various athletes (skiers, snowboarders, climbers, and trackers).
Innovation in its technology and astounding design
When it comes to highly intensive activities, sports apparel matters. The North Face offers a wide range of garments, shoes, and accessories provided with advanced technologies and contemporary designs.
FUTURELIGHT™
This technology is designed by using cutting-edge technology that can be adjusted to provide optimal sets of waterproof and breathable protection. To make it waterproof, breathable but also creating better venting and durability, the science behind this invention is that air permeability (which is a method of easing the passage of liquids or gasses through the material) has been added to a waterproof coating. The North Face has created their most lightweight, breathable fabric to date thanks to this revolutionary construction. An ultra-thin, compact piece of clothing that feels just as comfortable and offers the necessary protection in the roughest weather conditions. This can be found in many The North Face jackets as well as footwear available for women and men.
Thermoball™
Insulating in wet weather, foldable and compressible down to a pocket size, as well as having a water-repellent finish. The Thermoball™ jackets should be part of every hiker's kit, especially with the ever-changing weather conditions in the mountains of Europe. As an added bonus, the fabric and insulation are both made from fully recycled polyester (reused plastics), which ensures a lightweight, versatile, and comfortable jacket that retains heat even when wet.
Sustainability
The North Face is devoted to protecting the environment by producing designs that are easily recyclable, with the ultimate aim of keeping fabric waste out of landfills. Reimagining the designs of The North Face coats, fleece jackets, duffel backpacks and more to decrease CO2 emissions in the making of these products is its main purpose. The North Face is devoted to finding the greatest circumstances to support their aim of making the world a more sustainable environment and to "Never Stop Exploring"; they aspire to make use of better fabrics and materials and develop more committed and sustainable partnerships with suppliers.
Responsible Down Standard
Their dedication to sustainability doesn’t stop there: The North Face created the Responsible Down Standard (RDS) in 2014 to assure that the down used in its coats, sleeping bags, footwear, and other accessories does not come from animals that have been exposed to excessive harm, allowing for improved traceability and animal welfare. This RDS label guarantees that the goose down is ethically sourced and traceable. Natural down offers the best warmth-to-weight ratio in insulation which can be found in many of The North Face's products.
