Historically, DT Swiss was founded in Switzerland in 1634 and specialized in wire drawing. We find the wire drawing activity in the brand name.
The abbreviation DT was derived from the name in German and French of the former company "Vereinigte Drahtwerke / Tréfileries réunies". Even today, the abbreviation DT is an important part of the corporate name. The D stands for Drahtwerke and the T for Drahtwerke.
The brand's philosophy has always been to offer innovative products with a modern design and Swiss quality. Thanks to the feedback from professional riders, test drivers from all disciplines and the use of innovative components, the brand is a multiple world champion.

In terms of technology, DT Swiss specialises in the design and production of carbon components that make its products light, durable and reliable. For those who like unique configurations, DT Swiss has developed the Star Ratchet system for wheels, which allows various axle and freewheel body configurations.
The SCOTT-SWISSPOWER MTB RACING TEAM was teamed up by DT SWISS in 2012, as were Harald Philip and Stefan Hermann.
